Hijab (Women’s covering up) is a private space that the woman has the total authority over. She can decide who can have access to this private space and why. In this work, I sourced human hair from women who wear hijab (Hijabies) and felted each hair onto the fabric. I used critical humor by giving hair a form of a text.
Please note that all women who donated their hair were well aware of this project and that their hair will be displayed in public but chose to stay anonymous.
Material: Human hair, felt, wood
