When I was little, I used to go to different mosques with my grandmother. No matter which mosque we went to, there were curtains separating men and women. I often wondered why curtains followed me everywhere; weddings, funerals, etc.  I imagined men being naked on the other side of the curtain. It had become my little game to stare at the curtain and imagine naked men on the other side. I ended up warming up to fabrics that made those curtains and they made me imagine different things. They helped grow my imaginations and doing so made me a better story teller.

In this project a white fabric separated men and women regardless of their sexualities. A performance happened on women’s side, which men could not see. At the end everyone was encouraged to critique this work. The result of this separation was struggle of power between two genders. Men were unable to critique this work because they could not see the performance. People experienced inequality and Struggle of powers were in place from the beginning to end. I was favoring women by quieting men down, and by getting more comments from women. This project was a political experience based on Islamic culture. This project's goal was to release Islamic cultural oppressive side and freedom that it can offer. It showed the emancipatory possibilities of Feminism as well.
